Sicilia 2004

Traveling between Palermo and Agrigento on the route of the historic Targa Florio, with a special visit to the Regaleali Counryhouse one of the ancient strongholds of central Sicily, famous for the fertility of the soil and the quality of its products, and today a gorgeous relais of Tasca d’Almerita, where the rally Carovana Romantica travelled through the old streets between wheat fields, olive trees, pastures, and above acres of vineyards.

After the visit to Agrigento and the Valley of the Temples, vintage cars continued the trip directed to the province of Enna, and the archaeological excavations in Piazza Armerina, for driving towards Messina. New embarkation and arrival in Italy to trace along the coast and arrive in Sabaudia, and the Abbey of Fossanova, for subsequent visits to the Museum of the Second World War.

Another embarkation in Messina to get to Salerno, and from there, a long wonderful trip along the Amalfi Coast through Amalfi, Positano, Massalubrense. Here a special tasting of the Mediterranean recipes of “ the chef Don Alfonso”, and proceeed to Sant’Agata, to finally get to Sabaudia. A visit to the Abbey of Fossanova, ad the museum of World War II, and an happy end in Tarquinia, with a special welcome of the municipality.
